Coming out of COVID in the spring of 2022, connection was a feeling I wanted to encapsulate back in my community when I launched this small business idea. I decided I wanted to create an embroidery camp for incoming middle schoolers because I thought it would be a nice way to get lots of different kids from the four local elementary schools in Lafayette together before they all attended one middle school in the fall. I wanted to help them create this connection before going to a much larger school, as I know firsthand this transition is difficult but can be made easier with a friendly face. During the summer of 2023, my second year of the camp, the kids asked for more camp dates and embroidery birthday parties. I’m looking forward to the growth of this small business in 2024.
